MAS161: August 12, 2013 - Live Online Masterclass (Part 2)
Part 2 of the Live Online Masterclass on 8-12-13, recapping and demonstrating pentatonic substitutions over Maj7, Min7, and 7 chords. Discusses the implications of using larger intervals in phrasing, and shows how they can imply more vivid harmonic colors over static chords as compared to modal scales. Also demonstrates the parallels between each individual pentatonic scale fingering and the modes they are 'aligned' with. In this session, the minor pentatonic scale pattern and major pentatonic scale patterns are reviewed. Multiple subsitution ideas are demonstrated over Maj7, Min7, and 7 chords, as well as hybrid combinations. A great review class to follow up MAS155 and MAS166.
