The Live Online Masterclass from 5-26-15, which continued where MAS225 left off, covering slap bass in greater detail. Concepts for creating slap licks, fills, and transitions were covered, including the applied harmony and theory they are derived from. Pentatonic scales, blues scales, and basic modal applications were demonstrated for creating interesting sounding fills. The 'three plus one' concept was also described in detail. Presents specific exercises related to improvising slap fills over minor static chords, utilizing 'modal' position shifts to cover a greater range on the fingerboard.

The Live Online Masterclass from 6-24-15, which covered the concepts of playing bass lines 'with the time' and 'against the time.' The focus is on the relationship between what the drummer is playing rhythmically and how our bass lines can either align directly with the drummer's subdivisions or be played in the 'spaces.' Examples are demonstrated in detail and played at different tempos. Note duration is also discussed in relation to how it influences mood and feel.
