IMP166: Maj7 Pentatonic Substitutions
Introduces a concept for improvising over major chords based on the use of minor pentatonic scales which are displaced from specific tones over each chord. This is a great way to create more traditional- sounding lines over major chords in jazz styles. The concept is explained and demonstrated using background tracks so that you can hear how the phrases work over the harmony. Recommended for intermediate to advanced players interested in improvising over changes.
